Please Whitelist This Site?

I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.

One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.

If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.

Thanks for your understanding!

Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

Summoning

The Summoning skill is used to make any of 60 different familiars or their special attack scrolls. There are six types of familiars and ten tiers of each one, arranged into a logical structure. Summoning pouches are made at Summoning obelisks, and require only a charm and the appropriate secondary ingredient; empty pouches and spirit shards are not needed.

Summoning cannot be boosted using potions (you can only use a weak, regular or strong rejuvenation potion to restore lost points).

Table 160 provides an overview of the six types of familiars, their general characteristics, and how they are made and used.

The large table in Table 161 shows the Summoning level and secondary ingredient requirements for all 60 familiars, along with the Summoning XP made for making and then using a pouch. It also shows the name given to each familiar type (“bloodrager”, etc) and tier (“cub”, “little”, and so forth.) Note that the charm used is the same for all familiar types of a given tier.

For example, a keen worldbearer is a tier 4 beast of burden. It is made using a green charm and an archleather torn bag, requires level 37 Summoning, and gives 76.1 Summoning XP for making the pouch, and 2.4 XP for summoning the familiar itself.

Table 162 is similar to Table 161, but shows familiar and scroll capabilities instead of requirements and XP. It is used in the same way, by looking at each entry as a combination of a row and column. To take the same example as before, a keen worldbearer is a tier 4 beast of burden with an 18 slot capacity. Its scroll restores 26 points of run energy.
