Night Spider Sponsored links help make RuneScoop possible; RuneScoop members don't see them. See here for more information about ads. Most of the spiders encountered in the Furnished floors are the mundane dungeon variety, but occasionally youll see something different: a spider with red and brown markings and a reddish body with off-white splotches. This is a night spider, one of the new Slayer monsters put into the game specifically for Dungeoneering. The night spider requires a Slayer level of 41 to fight, but otherwise is handled in pretty much the same way as dungeon spiders are. I have only encountered a couple of these, so I am not sure what their poison begins at, but given the relatively low level of the monster, I dont believe it is much. As with other poisonous creatures, the difficulty associated with the poison depends on how well-prepared you are. The simplest solution to dealing with these is to buy antipoisons from the smuggler for 200 gp. These only cure poisonthey do not provide any immunityso they should be used only after the spider is killed, to prevent simply getting poisoned again. Another option is the set of cure spells available to mages: Cure Me (which cures the caster of poison); Cure Other (which cures the targeted player) and Cure Group (which cures players in the area around the caster. These require a Magic level of 71, 68 and 74 respectively, along with access to the Lunar Magicks spellbook. Having one player able to cure teammates can be very useful in a team dungeon environment. These too only cure poison, not provide immunity. A final option is to make weak, regular or strong cure potions, using aloe, featherfoil or buckthorn respectively, combined with firebreath whiskey. Despite their name, these actually do not only cure poison, but provide immunity from it for 5, 10 or 20 minutes. However, this is usually overkill, and most players dont bother to take the time. Night spiders also have a regular melee attack, but it is weak. I am not sure yet about its defensive strengths and weaknesses, but given its low level, my guess is that it is weak to pretty much everything. Note that these spiders can themselves be poisoned by players. I do not yet know the special drop provided by night spiders.
Theres only one type of night spider; it is combat level 59, has 650 life points and a maximum hit of 55.
