The RuneScoop Skill Optimization Guide for RuneScape - Crafting - Activity Descriptions - Gold Jewelry Plain gold jewelry is made without using any gems. While this yields far less XP than making rings, bracelets and so forth with gems included, it is very inexpensive (since gold bars are cheap) and may be a viable option for some players. It is also better-suited to multitasking, since you make 27 at a time instead of just 13. Most plain gold jewelry is available to free players and members, the exception being bracelets. Gem-based jewelry has several benefits over plain gold, most notably the awarding of far more XP, and the possibility of enchanting the resulting jewelry into useful magical items like rings of duelling or amulets of power. However, it often costs more to do, and is slower because you have to carry two items to the furnace for each product made. I have included methods for making both unstrung and strung amulets, since they have different value propositions. For a complete explanation of these pages, please consult the reference manual.
