I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.
One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.
If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.
Thanks for your understanding!
Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

Analysis, Discussion and Tips for Success
General Discussion
Sanfew serum is an advanced potion named for Sanfew, a druid leader who resides in Taverley (the unofficial "capital" of Herblore in RuneScape.) It combines the effects of super restore, antipoison and Relicym's balm, so it restores all stats (except life points), cures poison and cures disease. This is powerful stuff, all packed into a single potion, and it gives good XP for each potion as well: 160 XP (on top of what you get for the super restore itself).
The serum is made by adding unicorn horn dust, clean snake weed and nail beast nails to a super restore potion. The problem with it is that like most specialty potions, it is painfully slow to make. One of the ingredients, snake weed, is untradeable, and so you must collect it yourself, which takes several minutes for an inventory load full. You have to add three ingredients to the super restores, and there is no Make X for the process, so you have to click twice every time, being sure not to accidentally drink the super restore.
If you actually do make these potions, they are tradeable and sell for a high price. But you can't make very many per hour compared to other pots.
Note that the XP for this potion is given out a little at a time for each component added. However, making anything but the complete Sanfew serum will result in a big financial loss, as the partially completed potions sell for a fraction of the value of a super restore.
Location and Access
Snake weed is found by searching special marshy jungle plants found on the southwest coast of Karamja. The fastest way to get there is to use the fairy rings to code "CKR" and run west. You can also just run south from Brimhaven, but that is much slower if you want to bank the herbs.
You can make the potions at any bank, but a one-click bank like Castle Wars is preferred.
Required and Recommended Equipment
No equipment is needed.
Required and Recommended Supplies
You need super restore (3) potions, nail beast nails and unicorn horn dust.
Familiar Suggestions
Summon a foraging familiar to earn extra money for you while you work -- I prefer the magpie, given the high value of rings and gems today.
Technique and Tips
Start by heading to the southwest coast of Karamja. Look for the marshy jungle vines, search them until you find a grimy snake weed and clean it. Continue until you have 28, bank, and repeat if necessary.
At a one-click bank, take out 14 unicorn horn dust and 14 3-dose super restores. Click one dust, then one potion, to make an intermediate product called "Mixture - step 1 (3)". Repeat 13 times, being careful not to click the potions and drink them by accident.
Take out 14 clean snake weed and add them to the mixtures to make "Mixture - step 2 (3)". You can't drink the unfinished mixture so you can do this a bit more quickly by clicking a mix, then an herb, then an herb, then a mix, and so forth.
Remove 14 nail beast nails from the bank and add them to the mixture to make Sanfew serum. Again, this must be done one at a time, and you need to be careful not to accidentally drink the completed potions.
