General Discussion
Snake weed is one of five special "jungle herbs" that are part of the Jungle Potion quest, and one of only two that have an actual use after the quest is over (the other being rogue's purse). It is untradeable, being a quest item, and so can only be obtained by gathering it yourself (it is also a drop from some monsters, but in small quantities).
Snake weed takes a very long time to gather, so getting it just for the small cleaning XP you get for it is rather pointless. However, I've described that process here for sake of completeness, assuming you will want not bank and keep the herbs. See also the description of making Relicym's balm or Sanfew serum for a more practical use of the herb.
Location and Access
Snake weed is found by searching special marshy jungle plants found on the southwest coast of Karamja. The fastest way to get there is to use the fairy rings to code "CKR" and run west. You can also just run south from Brimhaven, but that is much slower if you want to bank the herbs.
Required and Recommended Equipment
No equipment is needed except for perhaps a lunar/dramen staff, depending on how you get to the area.
Required and Recommended Supplies
Lower-level players may need food to heal from damage caused by various monsters; an antipoison might also be a good idea.
Familiar Suggestions
Summon a foraging familiar to earn extra money for you while you work -- I prefer the magpie, given the high value of rings and gems today. There isn't a really worthwhile forager below Summoning level 47, so I wouldn't bother with a familiar at lower levels.
Technique and Tips
Search the marshy jungle plants to find the herbs, clean and drop them. There are lots of plants, but it takes quite a while to get the herbs, so you can only do about 270 or so per hour. Again, if banking them, this will be slower.
