General Discussion
Leather armor chaps can be further processed into studded leather chaps, improving their defensive capabilities, and giving a decent amount of Crafting XP at the same time. This is a viable training option, but these can't be made as quickly as regular leather items, and the steel studs needed to make them are somewhat expensive.
Location and Access
You can make these items at any bank, but a one-click bank is preferred. Castle Wars is my favorite.
Required and Recommended Equipment
None required.
Required and Recommended Supplies
For each set of studded chaps, you need one pair of regular leather chaps and one set of steel studs.
Familiar Suggestions
Summon a foraging familiar to earn extra money for you while you work -- I prefer the magpie, given the high value of rings and gems today. There isn't a really worthwhile forager below Summoning level 47, so I wouldn't bother with a familiar at lower levels.
Technique and Tips
Withdraw 14 sets of steel studs and 14 leather chaps from the bank. Click one set of studs, then one of the leather chaps, then choose "Make All" when the dialog box appears. When all of the items are complete, bank them and repeat the process.
