General Description

Achey logs are used to make ogre arrows for chompy bird hunting, killing zogres and a few other purposes. They are a low-level log but surprisingly valuable, making them a good moneymaker especially at low levels. One reason why these logs are so pricey is that the trees are not conveniently located, and they only give one log per spawn. But this is also why they can be lucrative for woodcutters, despite their relative obscurity. Higher level players can of course cut them as well, though they are likely better off with other activities. If you do cut these as a higher-level player, use a

spirit terrorbird to hold more logs, or a pack yak at level 96 Summoning (don't use a war tortoise as that pouch is very expensive.) I recommend chopping these logs on a full world for faster respawns, especially at higher levels.

Specific Method Details

Teleport to Castle Wars, and equip yourself with a rune hatchet and a ring of duelling. Summon a pack yak. Exit, run south over the bridge, then head west. As you travel, stop to chop any achey trees you find. Keep going west and you'll eventually find a few stands of several achey trees near each other, right around where the southern wall of Castle Wars bends back towards the river.

When you have a full inventory, put the logs in your beast of burden. Cut two more logs and put those in your yak, then continue going from tree to tree until you have a full load of logs. Teleport back to Castle Wars, bank the logs, empty your familiar, and repeat.
