Method Description, Instructions and Tips for Success

General Description

Summoning is mainly a support skill that helps you earn money in other activities, but the spirit cobra is one of a handful of familiars that can be used to earn money directly. Its special move, Ophidian Incubation, transforms a regular, inexpensive egg into a valuable cockatrice egg for use in Herblore and Summoning.

Like all special moves, the number of times you can cast Ophidian Incubation is limited by your special move points. However, recent changes to the Summoning skill have made it possible to use this scroll very quickly, so you can actually make a significant amount of money per hour with this method.

That said, I recommend only doing this method for short periods of time -- it involves a lot of repetitive mouse moves and clicks, and performing these moves for hours at a time could increase your risk of developing a repetitive stress injury.

Note that Summoning efficiency does not improve with higher levels, so the two sub-methods here are identical.

Specific Method Details

Go to any one-click bank. Normally I'd recommend Castle Wars, but doing this when others are around always leads to people asking "what are you doing?" so if you don't want to deal with that, a quieter spot like Neitiznot is preferable. Summon a spirit cobra, then take out of the bank a stack of Ophidian Incubation scrolls, a 4-dose Summoning potion and 26 eggs. Activate a scroll, then click an egg to transform it. You can repeat this pretty much as quickly as you are able to click. It takes 3 special move points per scrolls, so you can do at least 20 when starting from a full bar. Usually you get more, as the bar partially regenerates while you are working.

When you run out of special move points, swap the cockatrice eggs into your bank for more regular eggs, take one or more Summoning potion doses as needed, and repeat.

You can do over 1,000 eggs per hour, for a tidy profit, but again, I don't recommend doing this for long stretches at a time, or you may find your fingers and wrists hurting.

As a little bonus, you get about 3 Summoning XP per scroll. Sure, it's not a lot, but every bit helps -- and unlike making pouches, this XP makes money instead of losing it!
