Please Whitelist This Site?

I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.

One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.

If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.

Thanks for your understanding!

Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

Method Description, Instructions and Tips for Success

General Description

Cannonballs are one of the few ways to make money with Smithing. They have high demand because of players using them to powertrain, and they are slow to make and give poor Smithing XP, so supply never becomes excessive.

The best spot for making cannonballs is at Neitiznot, because it has a one-click bank and a furnace only one click away; you must complete The Fremennik Isles to use it.

The best place for a mid-level player to smelt is at the furnace in Edgeville.

I don't recommend using a beast of burden, due to the short distance between the bank and furnace. Instead I suggest a foraging familiar such as a magpie, which will provide you a nice bonus in foraged items while you work.

Specific Method Details

Get to Edgeville and put on your Varrock armour, then take out your ammo mould and magpie pouch. Summon the magpie. Withdraw 27 steel bars, then run to the furnace. As you are running, click one bar and then click on the furnace, then select "Make All". After all the bars are made into cannonablls go back to the bank, store them and repeat.

Each run takes about 3 minutes 5 seconds, for a total of 525 per hour. The profitability of the method depends on the current price of cannonballs, which tends to spike up after new combat additions to the game.
