Method Description, Instructions and Tips for Success
General Description
Nature runes are one of the most popular type to craft. While they have come down in value since the start of 2008, they are still a good way to make money and earn Runecrafting experience.
There are many different approaches for runecrafting nature runes, but the fastest method these days is to use a spirit graahk familiar, which provides unlimited teleports to a hunting area conveniently adjacent to the nature altar. One drawback, of course, is that using this familiar means you can't use an abyssal familiar to carry more essence, but the faster trips more than make up for this.
You need level 57 Summoning to use the spirit graahk. For those who do not have that level, I have devised a different method, which makes use of the fairy ring on Karamja and rings of slaying, which you can make after you unlock the secret to them using Slayer points.
An alternative method for making natures is via the abyss, but this is both slower and more dangerous than using the spirit graahk. For those unable to use the graahk, the abyss method will let you make more runes per hour, but bear in mind that the Abyss can be a dangerous place for those with middling combat skills.
Thanks to the November 2009 Runecrafting update, you start to get double natures above level 44, though not many until your level gets significantly higher. At level 91 Runecrafting you get two nature runes per essence. This is the "Holy Grail" of runecrafters and a very good moneymaker even with nature rune prices well off their historical high prices.
Specific Method Details
Start at any bank, equipping your weight-reducing gear, a ring of slaying, charged amulet of glory, nature tiara and lunar or dramen staff. Take out a magpie and summon it, just so you can make some extra money from its drops as you work.
Take out your Runecrafting pouches and fill them with pure essence, and fill your inventory with more essence.
Right-click the ring, operate it and teleport to the Rellekka slayer cave; the fairy ring is just to your west. Click it to go to Zanaris and then enter code "C K R" to get to Karamja. As soon as you appear on the island, click to your northeast, then run due east just north of the wall of Shilo Village, bearing northeast as you get near the altar. Go in and craft the essence in your inventory, then empty your pouches and craft that essence as well. Use your amulet of glory to teleport to Edgeville, bank and repeat.
A few notes on this method. First, make sure you remember to replace your amulet of glory and ring of slaying when necessary. Second, you will need to have lots of amulets of glory to make this work, and will have to take time to recharge them once in a while at the Heroes' Guild. If you don't want to do this, you could use rings of duelling instead of the glories, but this costs you an inventory slot. Finally, once in a while you will also need to make a trip to the Abyss to repair your pouches. If you want to play it safe you can do this while leaving the pouches in your bank (oddly enough). If you don't mind a small risk, then take your full pouches with essence to the Abyss, get them repaired, then go through the nature rift to craft as normal. This actually takes only a little more time than a standard run.
