Law runes are used for teleports and are always in demand; they can be crafted effectively either by using the balloon network or the Abyss, each of which has pros and cons. The balloon method's advantages are that you avoid having to go into the Wilderness, so you don’t have to worry about revenant attack or getting skulled. You also don't have to recharge amulets of glory or deal with damage from abyssal monsters. The abyss method, however, lets you craft more runes per hour. It also makes it easy to repair your Runecrafting pouches.
Remember that you cannot bring armor or weapons to Entrana, which makes using the Abyss somewhat risky -- you cannot wear proper armor. You also can't bring a pickaxe, or use any Summoning familiars, so this rules out an abyssal familiar to carry extra essence. This restriction has a considerable impact on yield compared to making other runes via the Abyss.
Bear in mind that any time you travel through the Wilderness there is the risk of revenant attack, but the distance covered in getting to the Abyss is small, and you only have to go up to Wilderness level 5, so it's rare to encounter a revenant of the right level to attack you. If you do come under attack, try to run south back to "civilization" or teleport using your amulet. If you are about to die, immediately drop your pouches -- you can get them back if you return quickly after you respawn, but if you die with them they are lost. I do not use a forinthry brace when in the Abyss on this method, since I take nothing of value that it would protect (the pouches aren't covered anyway.) |
