Method Description, Instructions and Tips for Success
General Description
Pure essence is the raw material for high-level Runecrafting and is always in demand. It is quick to mine and the only resource you can mine without having to move from rock to rock.
Pure essence mining seems to occur at a constant speed regardless of Mining level, so money-making differences boil down to issues like Summoning familiars and being able to access the mine from the Magic Guild instead of Varrock (which is closer to the bank.) At level 93 Summoning you gain access to the very useful abyssal titan familiar.
There are pros and cons to using pouches when mining essence. To some extent, the tradeoff depends on level, so see the individual money-making pages for more information.
Note that a dragon pickaxe will provide more yield than a rune pickaxe for those with Mining levels above 60. Due to its very high cost, however, I have decided not to include it in the Moneymaking Guide at this time.
Specific Method Details
Once you hit level 93 Summoning you gain access to the very useful abyssal titan. Its special move will automatically send all pure essence from your inventory to the bank! You get more essence per hour (earning more money, despite the cost of the scrolls), earn more Mining XP, earn a bit of Summoning XP, and avoid the need for tedious bank runs and pouch repairs. The only drawback of the abyssal titan is that it lasts only about 32 minutes. It can also sometimes be hard to buy the pouches, so you may have to make your own.
Since you are going to be "camping" at the essence mine, there's no need to bother going to Yanille; just access using the convenient teleport in Varrock. Wait to summon the titan until your inventory is full, then summon it, mine your 27th essence and use a scroll via the new, convenient button on the top right of the interface. Then just repeat whenever you see the message saying you can't carry more essence. You should get about 35 loads per familiar. Remember to fill up your inventory before returning to the bank!
By the way, be prepared for lots of players to make comments and ask questions if you use this method. :)
