General Method Description

A quick and easy way to make money using the Farming skill is to plant palm trees and then pick the fruit from them. If you plant all five fruit tree patches, you can get 30 coconuts in just a few minutes; it then takes somewhere between 5 and 6 hours for them to grow back. At the same time, you should also pick cactus spines from the sole cactus patch, since they are quite valuable as well.

At level 78 Summoning, you gain access to the giant ent familiar, which has a very useful feature -- a 50% chance of getting two fruit or spines instead of one each time you pick from a tree.

Note that since the June 2009 run energy update, you do not need energy restoration during this activity. Also, you can take advantage of the relatively new ability of tool leprechauns to note items associated with Farming, so that you do not need a beast of burden for this activity either.
