Method Description, Instructions and Tips for Success

General Description

In addition to making money with Farming by growing herbs, you can earn some quick cash simply by picking berries from the four bush patches in the game. Each holds four berries, which will grow back in a couple of hours after you've picked them. This isn't supremely lucrative, but it's a nice bit of extra gold, and you get Farming XP as well. Note that you can get much more XP by also uprooting and replanting the bushes, but this takes more time and I've not included that activity here. Note that the bush patches are mostly in remote locations; for easier access I assume you have the Explorers' ring 3 and the ability to use rings of slaying. The Ardougne cloak you get from completing any part of the Ardougne achievement diary is also handy, as it teleports you right near the bush patch south of Ardougne.

At very high levels the wolpertinger familiar is of obvious benefit for this activity, as it doubles not only the number of berries you get, but the amount of XP as well!

The process described here is the same for all berries, so be sure to also check the methods for harvesting jangerberries and poison ivy berries, and plant whatever bushes will give you the most benefit in terms of gold or XP, whichever you consider a priority.

Specific Method Details

Start at any bank, equipping boots of lightness, spottier cape, lunar or dramen staff, and a ring of duelling. Take out 2 law runes, 3 air runes, 2 water runes, ring of slaying, Explorers' ring 3, Ardougne cloak 3 and an energy potion. Also take out a wolpertinger pouch and summon it.

Teleport to Varrock and run south. After leaving town turn to the southwest and head to the patch just west of the Champions' Guild. Pick eight white berries from the patch.

Teleport to the monastery south of Ardougne, open the door and head to the berry patch just to the east. Pick eight berries from this patch, then use one on a tool leprechaun so they become noted (to save inventory space).

Rub your Explorers' ring 3 and use the "Cabbage-port" option to teleport to the cabbage field south of Falador. Then run west-southwest to the patch near Rimmington and pick the berries there. Note that if your house is in Rimmington, you can save some time by teleporting home and exiting via the portal instead. Otherwise it takes a while to get there, but you shouldn't need energy potions at this level.

Use your ring of slaying to teleport to Rellekka, then use the fairy ring just to the west of where you arrive. Go to Zanaris, then enter code "C I P", which puts you on Miscellania -- run well to your east to the patch on Etceteria and pick the berries from the bush there. Then use the ring of duelling to return to Castle Wars to bank.
