Method Description, Instructions and Tips for Success
General Description
While most players complain about the long time it takes to grow crops with Farming, brewing is even worse. Nominally it takes 24 hours for a brew to complete, but in my experience this can sometimes actually be closer to 36 hours; I used 30 hours here as a compromise. This slowness means those who do brew beer can get a good price for it -- or they could if beers were more useful. They generally aren't, which is why few people brew at all in RuneScape. The only beer that does have a lot of demand (and thus value) is Chef's Delight, since it provides a nice boost to the Cooking skill.
Making Chef's Delight requires level 54 Cooking, but can be done at level 51 with, amusingly enough, a Chef's Delight drunk before making the brew.
Note that if you do this frequently, you can save a bit of time by buying a bunch of ale yeast in advance and banking it.
Specific Method Details
At any bank, withdraw a dramen staff or lunar staff, a ring of duelling, and your ghostspeak amulet, and equip them. Now withdraw one Chef's Delight, 8 beer glasses, two buckets of water, two barley malt (roast regular barley on the stove in Edgeville if needed), 4 chocolate dust and 25 gp.
Use the ring of slaying to teleport to Rellekka, then use the fairy ring just to the east. At Zanaris, dial in "D K S" to get to the snow area; go west down the mountain and enter the cave to Keldagrim. Ask the dwarven boatman to take you to the city. Run southeast to the brewing room and go up the stairs; grab a pot from the spawn and buy some ale yeast from the brewer for 25 gp.
Turn the valve to drain your prior brew into the barrel. Assuming it is not bad ale, use one beer glass on the barrel to get out your ale (you could also use 2 calquat kegs). If the ale is bad, discard it. In my experience I get bad ale about 15% of the time, and mature ale instead of regular about 1 batch in 30.
Wait for a game "tick" and drink your Chef's Delight. Use a bucket of water on the vat and both will be added; do the same with the barley malt and chocolate dust. Use the ale yeast on the vat and it will say the beer has begun fermenting. Keep the pot.
Teleport to Castle Wars and store your Chef's Delight, saving one for the next batch. Get out more beer glasses, water, barley malt and chocolate dust. Also get out your ectophial and five ectotokens (you can get these by using the Ectofuntus to get Prayer XP). Empty the ectophial and then refill it at the Ectofuntus. Go south and enter the town, then go through the trap door in the pub. Talk to Metarialus and ask to buy some ale yeast from him.
...Then take out your beer and start a new batch using the same process described above. When done, teleport back to Castle Wars to bank.
