I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.
One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.
If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.
Thanks for your understanding!
Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

Method Description, Instructions and Tips for Success
General Description
Larupia fur is used both to make camouflage gear for hunters and by Summoners for making pouches. It is not worth hunting at lower levels (as the larupia jumps the trap too often) but by around level 50 can be caught fairly quickly.
However, at level 50 you'll get a high percentage of tatty fur, which is basically worthless. At higher levels your percentage of good furs improves, and you can also access the town of Oo'glog, which conveniently has a bank right near the hunting location. (It also has pools that give you a Hunter boost, heal you and provide infinite run energy, though they aren't really needed here.)
There's little difference between level 70 and level 90 skills for this activity, but if you have level 96 Summoning the pack yak beast of burden is definitely useful.
For hunting these, be sure you are on a full world and you are on low detail mode. High detail mode looks pretty but that eye candy really slows you down as it makes it hard to find the traps and avoid obstacles.
Specific Method Details
Ironically enough, you should wear a full set of larupia armor when hunting larupias, as it improves your odds. You'll also need a dramen/lunar staff for the fairy rings. For teleporting, use a ring of duelling; you can also use an amulet of glory to teleport, but then you'll need to recharge it. The amulet should be worn regardless to help reduce the damage you take from the larupias.
Starting at any bank, take from the bank a spirit terrorbird pouch, knife, woodcutting axe, teasing stick and an inventory full of willow logs. Summon the bird, store 12 logs in it, then take another 12 from the bank. Use your ring of slaying to teleport to Rellekka, then use the fairy ring there to go to Zanaris. Enter code "A K S" to get to the Feldip Hills, then run south a considerable distance until you see the pitfall traps. The main trap you will use is the one that is the second farthest southeast; it is oriented north/south and has a dead tree a couple of squares northeast of it.
Set this trap and find a larupia, tease it and start hunting. There is one larupia that respawns exactly at the western edge of this pitfall, and you should try to hunt that one specifically as it saves you a lot of running around.
As you hunt, drop "tatty" larupia furs and keep the good ones. Chop the tree to get more logs when you see it has respawned, and bury the big bones as you get them for free Prayer XP. As you continue hunting you will start to run out of logs because the good furs are less than half of the total you hunt. Start to accumulate big bones when you have space for them; they are valuable themselves. Be sure to remember to take the 12 willow logs from your bird, and put some furs or bones in it instead. (You can use any logs by the way, willows are just the cheapest.)
When you are out of logs teleport to Edgeville, bank, heal using cheap food, and repeat the process.
Each trip should take about 25 minutes. You should be able to get around 50 good larupia furs and 40 big bones per hour.
