Method Description, Instructions and Tips for Success
General Description
Barbarian fishing is a good way to train Fishing, as well as getting some Agility and Strength XP. Once you have high enough levels to catch leaping sturgeon, it can also be a decent moneymaker, because these provide caviar, instead of the now-nearly-worthless roe obtained from lesser fish.
Specific Method Details
To start, put on boots of lightness, a spottier cape, games necklace and ring of duelling, and take from the bank 25 feathers or fishing bait, an ibis pouch and a knife. Use the games necklace to teleport to the Barbarian Outpost, then run south to Otto's room; search his bed to find a Barbarian fishing rod. Summon the ibis and start fishing at one of the spots on the water nearby.
Once you have 25 fish, use the knife on each of the salmon and trout; leave the sturgeon alone. You'll get a bunch of fish offcuts (which stack) and roe (which do not). Resume fishing; the game will use the offcuts first, then complain that your inventory is full. Drop the remaining offcuts and keep fishing using the roe. Repeat the process until you have 24 or 25 caviar, then teleport back to Barbarian Outpost. Cut open all the sturgeon and bank the caviar using the deposit box. Then run back down and resume fishing, using the fish offcuts from the sturgeon. Each trip should take about 15 to 20 minutes.
When your games necklace runs out, use the ring of duelling to teleport to Castle Wars and get a new one. Also remember to bank the fish your granite lobster forages and replace it when necessary.
