I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.
One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.
If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.
Thanks for your understanding!
Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

Method Description, Instructions and Tips for Success
General Description
The warped terrorbird is another monster that developed a reputation as being not worth killing -- even on Slayer assignments -- because of its difficulty and poor drops. However, Jagex has updated its drops to make them actually quite decent, and the difficulty factor can be easily managed if you have high skill levels and know how best to fight them. They are aggressive and have multiple attack forms, so one key to fighting them properly is to go to the very end of the Poison Waste Sewers dungeon, where there's a place where you can fight just one at a time.
You could use a combat familiar here, but they don't really increase kill speed very much, and a beast of burden lets you take home much more value in drops. Don't underestimate the value of some of the drops these birds provide -- feathers and swamp tar quickly add up, and even the gnome food items are worth about 1k a piece.
Specific Method Details
Start at the Grand Exchange, putting on Dharoks and other standard melee gear. Take out your crystal chime, one 4-dose super set, a pack yak pouch, 5 sets of alching runes, and 21 pineapple pizzas. Run a bit to the northeast and use the spirit tree there to teleport to the Poison Waste Sewers. Run west, then south to the entrance, go in and up the ladder and you'll find two tortoises; now you must get ready for the terrorbirds.
The best spot for meleeing is in a room near the end of the dungeon, close to where you fought three terrorbirds during the quest The Path of Glouphrie. Put on Protection from Ranged, then open the metal door and the next one, and run east through the odd-shaped dungeon to a "U-shaped" room beyond it. Go down the ladder and you'll be in a vertically-oriented room with two birds and one tortoise; run north and go up the ladder. Run northwest through a large unevenly shaped room filled with terrorbirds and tortoises. Watch out for the tar, which will slow you down and turn off your "Run" setting. Go through the double doors. You're now in another "U-shaped" room; go down the ladder to the north. You will arrive in a narrow room with three terrorbirds; run east and go up the ladder. Go west, then north around the tar pit (again there is tar on the ground) and open yet another set of double doors. You'll now be in a safe area with only two tortoises. To the west is a room with just a single terrorbird, which is the place to do straight melee combat on these monsters.
Take your super set and start fighting the terrorbird in the room by itself. Put your weapon on the "Crush" setting for best results. Be sure you're on a full world so it respawns quickly -- you can just kill it over and over. Delay summoning the pack yak until you need more room -- you'll have about 55 minutes before you have to leave from the time you summon it (unless, of course, you bring an extra pouch to renew it.)
If possible, aim to stay for 45 minutes to an hour, though in practice your trick length will depend on luck. Not only will you sometimes take more damage than others, but these monsters also randomly drop food items, but not enough for it to be predictable.
Keep all the good drops, of course, alching items that don't sell easily such as mithril plates and rune warhammers.
When done, exit the room (so you don't get attacked -- these never lose aggressiveness) and use Home Teleport to get back to a bank and then repeat the process.
