I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.
One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.
If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.
Thanks for your understanding!
Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

Method Description, Instructions and Tips for Success
General Description
Vampires used to be a fairly pointless monster to fight, but now that vampire dust is in high demand as a Summoning secondary ingredient, they are a great combat monster. They provide the dust with each kill, and in addition also provide runes, herbs, strawberry and watermelon seeds, and herb seeds as well. (The seeds are dropped in rather small quantities so I have approximated the value of these in the gold output figure.) They also drop level 2 clue scrolls.
These monsters are a bit slow to kill with level 50 skills but still worth doing, provided that you have the ability to use the Burgh de Rott bank and the Agility shortcut (over the fence) to the mine area. With level 70 skills they are easy to kill, and at level 90 skills and above you can mow them down quite quickly.
Specific Method Details
Get to Burgh de Rott by taking the shortcut from Canifis to Mort'ton and then heading south. At the bank equip standard melee gear and take out a super set, a small amount of food (2 salmon or so will do) and a spirit terrorbird pouch. Drink a dose of each super set potion and put the rest of the potion back in the bank.
Run west to the fence and jump over it; go a bit to the west and the vampires are right there -- it takes only a few seconds. Take your first super set dose and start fighting the vampires. Since the bank is so close by, I recommend taking all reasonably valuable drops, even guams and tarromins, as well as good herb and allotment seeds. Take death, blood and chaos runes but don't bother with earth runes since you only get 4 at a time. Summon the pack yak and use it to store vampire dust and other drops you want to keep. When your inventory is full, return to the bank, store your goodies and repeat the process.
