Method Description, Instructions and Tips for Success

General Description

Spider carcasses are used in Summoning. They cannot be killed very quickly with level 50 skills, but they are valuable enough that it is worth considering. You also get a decent amount of combat XP at the same time.

Note that all of the sub-methods here are essentially the same except for the use of better beasts of burden at higher levels.

Specific Method Details

Get to the bank in Zanaris; the easiest way is to use a dramen or lunar staff from the fairy ring between Edgeville and the Grand Exchange. At Zanaris put on standard melee gear and take out of the bank your dramen staff or lunar staff, a 3-dose super set, spirit terrorbird pouch and 5 salmon or a comparable amount of other cheap food.

Go to the main fairy ring and dial in "C L S"; this puts you on the aptly nicknamed "Jungle Spider Island" east of Yanille. The best spot is just north of the little hut there, which is one click on your minimap. Run there, take your super set and start hacking at those spiders. Note that since they are supposed to be "camouflaged", they do not have yellow dots on your minimap. Keep fighting until you have enough carcasses to put 12 in the terrorbird, then keep fighting, using up your food and potions, until you have 27 more. Run back to the fairy ring, bank in Zanaris, and repeat.

Note that you should only have to use up a terrorbird pouch every other trip as long as you delay summoning it until your inventory is full of carcasses.
