Method Description, Instructions and Tips for Success

General Description

Jennica's ring is a reward for the completion of the quest Spirit of Summer; when activated near an appropriate Wilderness portal, it transports the wearer to a part of the Spirit Realm. One of these portals is located in the Forgotten Cemetery and has an interesting little feature. The Spirit Realm is like a mystical "inverse" of RuneScape, so there are several game features programmed so that what happens in one world causes the reverse effect in the other. The cemetery contains four coffins; if you close the coffins in the "real world", they open in the Spirit Realm; if you then go to the Spirit Realm and close the coffins there, they open in RuneScape, and four level 79 ghosts are created. These ghosts are quite easy to kill and have very good drops, including lots of runes, mithril arrows, noted limpwurt roots, and even prayer potions -- they are one of very few low level monsters to do so. They also drop ranarr seeds -- the only type of seed they drop. The quality of the drops means that you can make good money fighting these, though the profit per hour is somewhat restricted by all the time spent closing coffins and moving between realms.

Note that while the ghosts themselves are not difficult, you will be in fairly deep Wilderness (level 30) most of the time, so revenant attacks are always a possibility. My assessments assume the occasional need to fight off or run from a revenant (which isn't hard to do anyway if you are near a Spirit Realm portal.)

The most convenient way of getting to the Forgotten Cemetery is using the lava maze teleport of a lava titan familiar.

Specific Method Details

Equip yourself with the items shown; the forinthry brace is strongly recommended, to avoid being teleblocked (which makes it impossible to enter the Spirit Realm). Take out from the bank a 4-dose super set, a ring of duelling, a lava titan pouch, 4 or 5 good food (such as sharks) and 15 cheap food like salmon.

Summon the lava ttitan and click it, then select Teleport to teleport to the lava maze. Immediately run southwest towards the Forgotten Cemetery, which is at about level 30 Wilderness. You'll see the four coffins near the northern part of the cemetery; close them, then go a bit south to find the portal. Operate Jennica's ring when you are within one square of the portal and you'll be in the Spirit Realm; close the coffins there and return to the "real world" and there should be four level 79 ghosts, one of which will likely attack you immediately. I recommend ignoring the ghosts for now and repeating the coffin procedure two more times; it is more efficient to generate 12 ghosts and fight them all at once.

Once you do have a bunch of ghosts, take your first super set dose and start fighting them, using your cheap food as needed; reserve the good food. Continue until the ghosts are all dead, then repeat the coffin process. Take more super set doses after about 7 minutes or so, aiming for a trip of about 30 minutes' length. When your inventory is full, or you are out of cheap food, simply go to the Spirit Realm, teleport to Castle Wars to bank, and then repeat the entire procedure. If you time things just right, you can get three trips from a single lava titan, by using it just after summoning it, about half way through its 61 minute duration, and once more just before it disappears.

The good food is there in case of an emergency situation, especially if you get attacked by a revenant. If that does happen, don't panic, because you are not really in that much trouble -- just immediately move over to the portal and activate Jennica's ring to go to the Spirit Realm, where you will be safe. Then either wait for the revenant to go away, switch worlds, or bank if you need more supplies. If you get attacked by a revenant when you teleport to the lava maze, put on protection from ranged (to reduce the chances of being frozen) and run to the Forgotten Cemetery as usual.
