I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.
One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.
If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.
Thanks for your understanding!
Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

Method Description, Instructions and Tips for Success
General Description
Aviansies have become one of the most popular monsters in the game to fight for both money and experience. They must be ranged or maged; their most important drop is noted adamantite bars, which they provide 4 at a time about 1 in every 4 or 5 kills. They are also good sources of runes, herbs, feathers, alchable runite items and more.
Like most of the good money monsters, they are easy to kill -- the problem is other players. At one time it was fairly easy to get a world to yourself to fight these, but lately there is lots of competition for the best spots. I strongly recommend fighting aviansies during quieter times of the day, if at all possible -- do some other money-making activities during peak periods.
Very high level players kill aviansies so quickly that they end up standing around waiting for respawns or fighting with other players, and using the multiple monster poison technique is impossible. So I recommend leaving the normal combat area where all the other players are, and going into Armadyl's Eyrie itself. The aviansies there are higher in level and take longer to kill, but there are far fewer people and you can fight many at once easily. Plus, the higher level aviansies
make using a combat familiar more worthwhile -- the geyser titan is an excellent choice as it has both a melee and ranged attack and tons of hitpoints.
Specific Method Details
You must wear a piece of Armadyl equipment to avoid getting swarmed by the aviansies, which means the Armadyl Pendant (from the Temple of Ikov quest) or a piece of Armadyl armor. I assume the former here. You also should wear a piece of Saradomin gear and Zamorak gear so those monsters will leave you alone. I use a Saradomin coif for the former and an unholy book for the latter. Use a rune crossbow as a weapon and broad-tipped bolts for ammo, which hit hard and are dirt cheap.
Get equipped in any bank and then take out the following: 2 law runes, 152 fire runes, 30 nature runes, two 4-dose ranging potions, two 4-dose super defence potions, 3 salmon, a bunyip pouch and 17 pineapple pizzas.
Teleport to Trollheim, go down the rocks and run to the north, putting on Protection from Ranged before getting near the thrower trolls. Take the crevice (60 Agility) or move the boulder (60 Strength) to get to the ice area -- the Agility one is faster. Put on Protection from Melee and walk northeast to the entrance, then go in.
Walk southwest to the Armadyl area of the main dungeon chamber, looking for the gorak that hangs around in the area. Summon the bunyip, take your first ranging potion and super defence and start fighting aviansies. If possible, concentrate on the level 71 and level 83 aviansies that get attacked by the gorak and other Zamorak monsters -- you only need to do 1 HP of damage to get the kill, so letting them help speeds things up. Of course, be considerate to other players, world hopping if necessary to find a world where a good spot is free.
In terms of drops, take the obvious stackable items, including the addy bars, feathers, and water, air, nature, blood and chaos runes. You can take the body runes too, but don't bother with mind runes (uncommon drop and only 5 at a time.) The bunyip will heal you pretty well, though you will need to slowly use up your food also. When you are out of supplies, use your rune drops to teleport out (say, to Falador) and repeat as desired.
