I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.
One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.
If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.
Thanks for your understanding!
Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

Description of Moneymaking Guide Method Summary Pages
Sponsored links help make RuneScoop possible; RuneScoop members don't see them. See here for more information about ads.
Each of the over 100 methods in the
Dynamic Moneymaking Guide is described in a structured set of pages:
a summary page and multiple level-based detail pages. As its name implies,
the summary page gives you an overview of the method, including a general
description of it, and a summary of each of the detail pages. There
are then one to six detail
pages for each level profile variant of
the method; for example, churning butter has mid level, high level and
very high level variations, and a detail page for each.
The summary pages for each method
have four tables that provide you with the basic information needed
to understand the technique. Ill describe these for you briefly
here. Note that there are slight differences in the tables for regular
and limited methods.
General Information
This table consists of the summary
bar at the top, an image relevant to the method, and key information
about it.
The summary bar gives the name of
the method, and its category and subcategory. The category and subcategory
are mostly used in indexes
to help you sort various methods and find what you are most interested
in.
The image is just something I included
for fun to make the pages look nicer. J
They generally show me undertaking whatever activity I describe. Most
of the images were taken in high-detail mode, except for when the activity
specifically recommends low detail.
The remainder of the table includes
the following information:
General Description: A one-sentence summary
of the method.
Creation/Revision Date: The date that
the method was created or last revised. Note that this does not
refer to the date when the page was generated using Grand Exchange prices;
that is indicated just above the table.
Levels Defined: Which level-based variants
exist for this method, from among: Very Low, Low, Mid, High, Very High,
Extremely High
Members Only? Whether this is a members
only activity.
XP Benefits: A listing of the skills for
which you get a non-trivial amount of XP in this activity.
Other Benefits: A list of any other significant
benefits from this method.
Additional Info: This box is currently
unused; it will provide any additional relevant information, including
links to other parts of RuneScoop where appropriate.
General Method Requirements
This table lists the specific requirements
necessary to undertake this method, including the following:
Skills: The minimum levels needed in any
applicable skills to do the method. Note that only actual requirements
are listed here, not skill levels that are recommended. For example,
its a bad idea to try to fight spiritual mages without at least
prayer level 37 for Protection from Magic, and decent combat stats.
The only technical requirement to fight them, however, is a Slayer level
of 83.
Quests: Any quests you must have completed
to do this method.
Equipment: Any special gear you need for
the methodsuch as a crystal chime for warped tortoisesand
a general description of other gear you pretty much need .
Other: Achievement diaries and other content
you need to have finished or unlocked.
Summary of Level Methods and Profitability Figures
This table gives you a quick at
a glance summary of the key information about each of the level-based
profile variants for this method.
For each level that is defined for
the method, youll see the following in the table for all methods:
Location: The location within RuneScape
where the method is carried out.
Skills as Evaluated: Any skills that are
relevant to the method, or whose level had an impact on how it was tested.
To take the spiritual mages example again, your Attack, Strength and
other skills have a big impact on how profitable it is to kill them,
so for each variation I list what levels were used.
Tables describing regular methodsthat
is, ones that can be performed continuouslyalso contain the following
for each method:
Hourly Profit: How much the guide calculates
the approximate hourly profit to be.
Overall Profit Rank: Where this method
variation ranks among all method variants in the Moneymaking Guide,
including its percentile (where 100th percentile is the best.)
Profit Rank Within Level: The methods
ranking among all methods at its particular level. This may be very
different from the overall ranking, especially for the better low-level
activities (which will have low ranks compared to all methods, even
if they may be among the best of all low-level methods).
Limited methodsones that you
can do only periodicallyhave a different set of summary information:
Profit Per Instance: Approximately how
much money you make each time you perform the activity.
Time Required Per Instance: How many minutes
it takes to do the method described.
Interval Between Instances: How long you
must wait after doing the method before you can do it again. This controls
how often you can perform it, of course.
Equivalent Hourly Profit (Elapsed Time):
This is how much gold you make per hour doing this activity, taking
into account the total amount of time needed between one instance and
the next. For example, if a method makes 10,000 gp, it takes five minutes
to do, and you can do it once every two hours, then the equivalent elapsed
time profit is 5,000 gp per hour. This is mostly used to compare and
rank limited methods.
Equivalent Hourly Profit (Active Time):
This is how much gold you make per hour doing this activity, taking
into account only how much actual time the method itself requires. To
take the same example as above (a method that makes 10,000 gp, takes
five minutes, and you can do every two hours), then the equivalent active
time profit is 120,000 gp per hour. Again, this is mostly used to compare
and rank limited methods.
General Method Description
This table contains a text description
of what the method is, and how it works. This includes a brief discussion
of what the method is about in general terms, and any information that
is relevant to all level-based variations. I also provide generic hints
and tips here, and sometimes links to other related methods.
Specific instructions for how to
do the method are not listed here; these are found in the detail
pages.
