I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.
One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.
If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.
Thanks for your understanding!
Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

The two most popular places for fighting black demons are Taverley Dungeon and the Chaos Tunnels. The former location has many demons in a single combat zone; the latter has four, but is multicombat. At Taverley you can use a cannon, if you're so inclined; in the Chaos Tunnels you cannot, but you can employ a combat familiar here.
To get to the spot in Taverley, begin at Falador West bank. Hop the west wall in Falador and enter the dungeon; ideally, use the pipe shortcut to the blue dragons, then run south and west to a large room with many black demons. Without the shortcut, you'll have to go all the way around.
For the Chaos Tunnels, start at Edgeville and run northwest to the gargoyle entrance. Take the northwest portal to the mummies, go west and take the northwest portal there to the monks of Zamorak. Run northeast and take the portal to the dust devils, then take the portal just NW of there to the black demons. The best spot is right where you enter their chamber, which has two demons right next to each other.
The black demons in the Brimhaven and Edgeville locations are deep in their respective dungeons and not recommended. Edgeville is especially dangerous because of the risk of revenants.
Equipment
For meleeing, fighting with prayer is strongly recommended, so wear prayer equipment and your favorite weapon. A godsword is helpful for its Prayer bonus, especially the Saradomin version that can restore Prayer points. I have tested fighting black demons without prayer, and using Barrows armor, a bunyip and using extreme potions, it is not practical -- you spend as much on food and Barrows repairs as just using prayer in the first place. You also would not be able to stay for very long. The only way this could really work would be to use Guthans, but that slows you down quite a bit.
Dharoks is an option that will greatly speed up kills, due to the demons' high life point totals, but will require more prayer potions.
For ranging from safe spots, use standard ranging gear.
Supplies
For one hour using prayer, bring four or five 4-dose prayer potions, depending on your prayer level and the equipment you're using (Dharoking will require more, for example.)
Super attack and super strength (or extreme potions if you can make them) are strongly advised to speed up combat. You can use Zamorak brews instead of super attacks; they provide an additional +2 to Attack and also restore 10% of your prayer points. However they have started to get expensive due to the huge increase in the cost of torstol.
Bring with about 15-20 sets of alching runes per hour (they drop fires, but infrequently.)
A one-click teleport is advised whenever going to the Chaos Tunnels, in case you get misteleported.
Familiar
If you're going to try fighting without prayer, use a healing familiar. I don't recommend that, as I've mentioned; instead I use a beast of burden to carry back unnoted drops.
Combat Notes
As always, watch your Prayer points when fighting with prayer. If trying to go without prayer in the Chaos Tunnels, remember that they are multicombat, and make sure you don't have two attacking at once!
If you want to safe spot, the best location in Taverley is around the stalagmites in the western part of the cave; in the tunnels, the northern part of their chamber.
Piety or Turmoil will speed up kills here, at the cost of more prayer potions.
Drop Notes
Black demons have decent drops, but given their level, only just decent, not great. They mostly provide herbs, small numbers of runes, adamantite bars, and the occasional rune medium helm or rune chainbody. Watch for drops that hide under the ashes that the demons leave behind.
On the plus side, black demons are good crimson charm droppers. Note that it used to be only the ones in the Chaos Tunnels that provided large numbers of charms, but at some point this was changed, and you can now get the same number of charms in Taverley as well.
Note that regular defence potions, such as those dropped by these monsters, are valuable now -- keep them.
