I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.
One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.
If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.
Thanks for your understanding!
Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

Mummy - Access and Combat Recommendations
Access Directions
The fastest way of getting to these monsters requires you to have completed Dealing with Scabaras and attached the rope at the western edge of the plateau to enable the shortcut from the Agility Pyramid area. Then to get to these mummies, just use a pharaoh's sceptre to teleport to the Agility Pyramid, go down the rocks, run east and use the rope shortcut. Beware that you'll be attacked immediately after using that rope.
Alternately, you can take a magic carpet from Pollnivneach to Sophanem and then run east to the Agility Pyramid area and follow the instructions above. A ring of slaying (if you have earned the right to make them) is a quick way to access Pollnivneach.
Equipment
These monsters hit extremely hard, so prayer gear is strongly recommended regardless of the method you use to kill them.
You also need some way of dealing with the desert heat. An enchanted water tiara is optimal if you can make one; otherwise you need waterskins. Note that the tiara negates the use of Barrows sets (for their effects, anyway). If you want to use something like full Dharoks, you'll need to bring waterskins. spring just to the east, near the archeologists' camp.
Supplies
For meleeing, bring Zamorak brews and super strengths along with prayer potions. For ranging, bring ranging potions and prayer potions, and of course your ammunition of choice.
Remember waterskins if you aren't using an enchanted water tiara; these can be refilled at the spring near the archeologists' camp just east of the mummy area.
Bring about 10 or so sets of alching runes.
Familiar
I strongly recommend against fighting without prayer, but if you do, use a healer. Otherwise, bring a beast of burden if you want to take home extra drops (they provide a fair bit of unnoted gold ore.)
Combat Notes
The mummy is mostly a "nuisance" monster you have to get past to access the Scabarite dungeon. It could be used for training, but they have pretty high defence. If you try them, make sure your prayer doesn't run out, or you're in for a world of hurt. That's especially the case when ranging since there is no good ranging armor that provides a substantial prayer bonus.
Drop Notes
These monsters' drops are similar to those of the Mummy (Level 103), but they give a higher chance of rune armor and weapon items. Still, don't expect much. These mummies also do not drop Summoning charms.
