I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.
One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.
If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.
Thanks for your understanding!
Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

Get to the Slayer Tower quickly using a slayer ring; if you can't make them, walk northwest from Canifis, or use the "C K S" fairy ring. Go up the spiked chain (level 61 Agility) and run southwest to climb the stairs. Go east and then north to the northeast room.
For the Chaos Tunnels, use the gargoyle entrance northwest of Edgeville. Take the northwest portal to the mummies, go west and take the northwest portal there to the monks of Zamorak. Run northeast and take the portal to the dust devils, then take the portal just NW of there to the black demons. Run west and take the portal to the bronze dragons and earth warriors. Then go north and take the portal to the ranging dagannoths, go northeast to one last portal and you're at the nechryaels. Be sure to use appropriate prayers as you go through the tunnels!
Note that while the room in the Chaos Tunnels is more difficult to get to, once you are there the monsters are much closer together, which can save you time.
Equipment
For more "casual" fighting, Guthans armor is recommended; bring a faster weapon and switch to the warspear when needed. If using a healing familiar like a bunyip, though, you can get away with less armor. A faster meleeing alternative is to use Dharok's. Be careful, though, as the death spawns have a magic attack so they will slowly damage you.
For ranging, wear standard ranged gear. For fast (but expensive) kills, you can use chinchompas in the Chaos Tunnels. Wear prayer gear in this case, as you will need to keep Protection from Melee on.
If taking the spiked chain shortcut in the Slayer Tower, don't forget a nose peg to get past the aberrant spectres! Drop it once past them, to make room for more drops. If you have nechryaels as a Slayer assignment, wear a Slayer helmet if you have one, and this lets you get the melee benefits of a black mask and avoid the need for a nose peg.
Supplies
For meleeing, bring a load of good food (monkfish, shark, pineapple pizzas) so you spend less time Guthaning (which is slow). Super sets are recommended to speed up kills and drops.
For ranging, bring ammunition, of course, and some food "just in case". For chinning, you will need several 4-dose prayer potions to stay for a while.
Bring about 15 sets of alching runes.
A one-click teleport is always recommended in the Chaos Tunnels.
Familiar
A healing familiar is very useful and means you can use cheaper food. Use one unless Dharoking, in which case you can use a beast of burden or a forager like the magpie.
Combat Notes
With proper armor, these guys are basically pushovers; wearing Guthans, you could camp here all day. Just watch your health and eat/Guthan as needed.
The primary location has a table you can use as cover for ranging. A crystal bow is ideal here, since it saves you picking up arrows/bolts.
The death spawns are annoying but generally harmless as long as you aren't Dharoking. Note that your character will not attack them automatically even when auto-retaliate is enabled. They drop only ashes, so ignore them; if you run far enough away they will stop following, but this does cost you time.
Drop Notes
Nechryaels are good herb seed monsters, dropping only toadflax or better; you'll usually get at least one or two of the high valued herb seeds per hour. They also drop good numbers of death runes, the occasional set of rune boots, and lots of crimson charms.
