I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.
One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.
If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.
Thanks for your understanding!
Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

Dried Zombie - Access and Combat Recommendations
Access Directions
Dried zombies are found in the plateau area where the archeologists are found during the quest Dealing with Scabaras.
Easiest access requires you to have used a rope to create the Agility shortcut from the Agility Pyramid area. Bank in Sophanem, then use a Pharaoh's sceptre to teleport to the Agility Pyramid, or run to it from the town. Go down the rocks and run east to the rope shortcut.
Use the rope and run past the mummies and over the low wall (I recommend Protection from Melee first, as the mummies hit hard). Head east to the archeologists; the three types of dried zombies are found in an area just to the northeast.
Equipment
These monsters are in a multicombat area and hit hard, but they aren't aggressive, so you won't get dogpiled unless using a cannon. One issue is that they are in a desert area so heat damage is a concern. For fighting them one at a time, your best bet is to wear good Barrows armor with an enchanted water tiara. Another option is to wear Guthans, using a regular weapon normally and switching to the spear for healing when needed. In this case you will need to use waterskins. Fortunately, they are sold right in Sophanem, and you can refill the waterskins from the spring near the archeologists' camp. The water tiara is still easier, though.
If you are using a cannon, you should wear prayer gear along with the water tiara. You could also forego the tiara and use food to heal the heat damage since you won't be taking hits from the zombies.
Bringing along a charged Pharaoh's sceptre allows you to quickly get back to Sophanem to store drops and get more supplies.
Supplies
If fighting without prayer, bring good food and waterskins if needed. If fighting with prayer, you need prayer potions, of course. Super sets are recommended for fighting without prayer, and Zamorak brews / super strengths for fighting with prayer.
These monsters don't drop a lot of items worth alching, but a few sets of alching runes isn't a bad idea.
Familiar
If fighting without prayer, I recommend using a healing familiar such as a bunyip. If using prayer, a beast of burden can help in combat and with drops.
Combat Notes
There are three types of dried zombies: the Dried Zombie (Level 89), Dried Zombie (Level 94) and Dried Zombie (Level 110). They are all pretty much the same in terms of combat style and drops, and even have the same number of life points. Oddly enough, the 110 even has a lower max hit than the 89 and 94 variants! My suspicion is that the combat level difference has to do with their toughness or how accurately they hit.
Since they are so similar, it is best to just fight all three types at once: just kill whichever zombie is closest. Since the zombies have an annoyingly slow melodramatic death animation, as soon as you see one start to crumple, start on a new one and come back for the drop later (if it is worth it).
Dried zombies are good cannoning monsters. While you won't get enough drops to cover your cannonball costs, you get good XP and can get a lot of blue charms as well.
If cannoning, be sure not to let your prayer run out as a bunch of these attacking at once on prayer robes would be... not good. :)
Drop Notes
These monsters do not have great drops for their level; they do have some decent items, but they also drop quite a bit of total junk. (Bronze scimitars at this level? Really?)
On the plus side, you should get a decent number of death runes, some noted silver and steel bars, the odd ruby ring, some potions, and a bit of bow and crossbow ammo. Dried zombies are also pretty good blue charm droppers; like all such monsters, they don't drop very large quantities of charms overall, but they give more blues than a monster that provides mainly gold, green or crimson charms.
