I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.
One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.
If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.
Thanks for your understanding!
Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

Level 81 Bloodveld, Mutated Bloodveld (Level 126), or Mutated Bloodveld
Bloodveld - Access and Combat Recommendations
Access Directions
The fastest way to the Slayer Tower is by using the new ring of slaying. If you haven't earned the ability to make these yet, get there quickly by walking northwest from Canifis, or use the "C K S" fairy ring . The fastest way to get to the bloodvelds is to go up the spiked chain (level 61 Agility) and then use the door just to the north. If you don't want to take an inventory slot for the nose peg, you'll have to walk all the way around to the stairs in the banshee area, then walk north and then west to the bloodvelds. Of course, if you can use the Slayer helmet, that's a better solution as it combines a black mask and nose peg (among other things).
The fastest way to get to the Meiyerditch spot is the Abyss via the Zamorak mage. Go to the blood altar, exit the ruins and go east, then south. The regular bloodvelds are in a room beyond the one with the mutated bloodvelds.
If you don't want to use the Abyss then you need level 65 Agility to take the shortcut from Canifis. Go down the trap door behind the bar, take the first cave entrance and go south to enter the tunnels. Pass the Agility obstacle and follow the long tunnel until you see the mutated bloodvelds in a chamber to the west of the path.
Equipment
For meleeing, wear high magic defence gear, such as dragonhide armor; Karil's isn't necessary here as they don't hit very hard. For ranging, bring typical ranged gear to safe spot.
Some players like to use Guthans here, but I find that it is slow, and the poor magic defence of the set means that you lose a lot of points even as you heal.
If cannoning in the secondary location, you may want to consider prayer gear as you'll be attacked by several at once. You can get by using regular armor but only for short trips, and will need lots of food.
A black mask or Slayer helmet will help speed up kills.
Supplies
Bones to Peaches is very effective when fighting bloodvelds since they drop bones and little else that's unstackable. Bring a load of good food to use up first, along with runes or tablets for B2P; high-level players will only need to cast it at most a couple of times, while mid-levels will need more.
A couple of super sets are recommended.
Bring about 15 or so nature runes; they drop fires.
If taking the spiked chain shortcut in the Slayer Tower, don't forget a nose peg to get past the aberrant spectres. If taking a cannon to the tunnels below Meiyerditch, a super energy potion is a good idea -- it's a long run with heavy gear.
Familiar
A healing familiar is very useful and means you can use cheaper food and can even skip the B2P. A couple of super sets are recommended.
Combat Notes
Bloodvelds have very low defence and a lot of life points, which makes them very popular Slayer assignments.
As long as you are wearing proper magic defence gear like black dragonhide, you won't get hit very often by these guys. If praying, use Protection from Melee, not Protection from Magic.
To range bloodvelds, trap them along wall edges in their primary location in the Slayer Tower.
With the addition of the new room near the blood altar, bloodvelds can be cannoned for very fast XP as well. While there's only four of them, they respawn quickly. Put your cannon near the very center of the room and try to stay near it so none of the bloodvelds retreat (as monsters do when you get too far from them.) In addition to loads of XP, you can get a lot of charms with the cannon as well. I suspect, however, that Jagex lowered the per-monster charm drop rate here, as you get fewer charms per kill than in the Slayer Tower. For that reason, I don't recommend fighting here unless using a cannon.
Watch your health carefully if not using prayer, as they can hit hard in this multi area. Also, be aware that you can be attacked by skeletal hands in this room.
Drop Notes
These monsters have an undeserved reputation as being an excellent source of blood runes, probably because of their name; there are many other monsters that are much better. Bloodvelds do provide a decent number of blood runes, along with lots of fire runes, some alchables and a good amount of charms (mostly green).
I also killed a couple of skeletal hands but didn't include them or their drops above.
One of the best green charm droppers in the game. They also drop 4 big bones + 2 bones (in addition to 100% drop) or 1 big bones + 1 bones. Note that meat pizzas are highly variable, and 6 in an hour is above average.
