Cockroach Worker - Access and Combat Recommendations

Access Directions

First complete the Stronghold of Player Safety. Then use the rope to exit to the surface; thereafter you can enter via the crevice just northwest of the stronghold.

Exit the rope room and go east to the jail door and go through it. You'll now be in the northeast corner of the middle level. Go south past the cockroach soldiers to the end of the tunnel, then west and then north past the drones. Take one of the sets of stairs to the bottom floor.

On the bottom floor you'll find lots of workers. Two good spots are right near the four staircases and in the alcove in the northwest corner.

Equipment

Standard melee gear is fine; these don't hit fine. Barrows is not necessary.

For ranging, regular ranged armor.

Supplies

Take about 10 to 20 pieces of cheap food, depending on your Defence level.

Bring about 50 fire runes; they drop natures. Super attack and strength potions aren't needed but will get you more kills per hour. Don't bother with super defence pots unless you Defence level is low.

Familiar

These guys don't drop a lot of herbs, nor many unnoted drops; I'd use a forager like a magpie.

Combat Notes

These are pretty easy to kill for mid-level or higher players, and no special techniques are required. Just keep an eye on your health.

The workers are smaller than the soldiers but still big enough to trap along walls for safe spotting.

Drop Notes

These monsters were added as part of the Stronghold of Security and Jagex gave them pretty good drops as an enticement for players to check out the stronghold. They give good quantities of noted mithril ore and coal, plenty of runes, some herbs and also good amounts of charms (with a bias towards the useful crimson charms).
