I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.
One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.
If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.
Thanks for your understanding!
Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

Ice Giant - Access and Combat Recommendations
Access Directions
These giants are best battled either in the Asgarnian Ice Dungeon (single combat) or the chaos tunnels (multicombat). To reach the Asgarnian Ice Dungeon, use fairy ring code "A I Q", then run north to the dungeon entrance. Go west, then north and then east, eventually reaching a large chamber with lots of ice warriors and ice giants. A good spot is in the southeast corner.
The Chaos Tunnels location is a nice spot as well, and enables you to use a combat familiar, if you like doing so. To get to it, use the gargoyles entrance northwest of Edgeville. Use the portal right near the entrance, then run south and take the southeast portal to the ice warriors and ice giants.
There are some ice giants spread through the Ice Maze under White Wolf Mountain, and also a few above ground in this area. This is a less ideal spot for fighting them, in my opinion.
Similarly, there are ice giants in the deep Wilderness, in the ice area near the Agility training course. I don't see much point to fighting them there.
Equipment
Wear gear appropriate to the style of combat you are using. Standard armor is fine for meleeing (no need for Barrows), and you can safespot so ranging armor or mage robes are fine as well.
These monsters can also be Dharoked for faster kills.
Supplies
High level players need only a handful of food for regular combat; mid-level and lower players need more. Super sets are recommended regardless of method.
Bring a few sets of alching runes.
Familiar
In multicombat areas you could use a combat familiar, but for high-level players they die so quickly that there isn't much point. I prefer a beast of burden to carry home extra drops; if nothing else, they provide big bones 100% of the time.
Combat Notes
These are mid-level giants, tougher than Hill Giants and Moss Giants (Level 42), but much easier than Fire Giants. They are fairly easy to kill for higher-level players, but can be a challenge for mid-levels. Another issue with these is that they are usually found near Ice Warriors; since both monsters are aggressive, if you are combat level 114 or lower you'll end up fighting both monsters if in a single combat area.
Truth be told, there's not much point in fighting ice giants unless you get them as a Slayer assignment -- ice warriors, despite their higher combat level, are easier and faster to kill, and have better drops.
Drop Notes
These guys are not great in the drops department overall; they'll give you a few runes, arrows, seeds and miscellaneous junk. Their most consistently valuable drop is the big bones they give on each kill.
Like all giants, ice giants are fairly prolific gold charm droppers.
