I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.
One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.
If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.
Thanks for your understanding!
Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

Wall Beast - Access and Combat Recommendations
Access Directions
Enter the Lumbridge swamp caves either by going down the hole in the Lumbridge swamps or using the shortcut opened up as part of the Lost Tribe quest. The latter is quicker, though it's a longer walk within the cave to the preferred combat spot.
There are only a few of these and they are quite spread out. The best spot seems to be in the southwest part of the dungeon, where there are two wall beast holes fairly close by; one is north of the other.
To get to this location from the main entrance, go west from the entry area and then south. (There's a wall beast near the entrance you can use as well.)
To get there from the cave goblin shortcut, go west through two caverns, then south through two more and then west again.
Equipment
You must wear a spiny helmet (available from Slayer masters) or a Slayer helmet (earned using Slayer points) to both protect against the monsters' stealth attack and to enable you to fight back. The Slayer helmet is better as it provides more defence and gives you the bonuses of a black mask when on wall beast Slayer assignments.
You also need a covered light source (such as a bullseye lantern) for the caves.
Higher-level players will be fine with regular melee gear; mid-level players may wish to use Barrows armor for higher defence.
Supplies
These monsters have a lot of life points but do not hit very hard. High-level players will need at most a few items of food; mid-levels may wish to bring more to save trekking back to the bank.
Bring about 10 to 15 sets of alching runes.
Familiar
Use a beast of burden to carry extra drops.
Note that a macaw has no effect on herb drops here, since this is a "special" monster (it only drops guams.)
Combat Notes
These monsters are not visible until you move in front of one of the craggly "holes" in the wall; they will then attack. Assuming you are wearing your spiny helmet, their initial attack will be repelled and you can fight back.
Wall beasts also have an unusual respawn mechanism: they don't seem to reappear in any spot where you've just fought until you go to a different hole and at least begin combat there. So you need to go back and forth between two locations.
Note that for whatever reason, auto-retaliate doesn't always work here, so you may need to manually attack them on occasion.
Be careful not to accidentally click on a cave slime in the area, as they have an automatic contact poison. It's only 30 LP or so worth, but still annoying.
To run past a wall beast when not wearing a spiny helmet, stop at a square on one side of their "attack zone". Ensure "Run" is on, then click the square on the opposite side of their attack square, and you should run right past.
Drop Notes
Wall beasts are notorious for having poor drops. They drop herbs, but only guam, and most of the rest of what they provide is junk. When Summoning came out, Jagex tried to compensate for this by giving wall beasts a pretty decent charm rate and distribution, but overall these monsters are rather unrewarding.
