I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.
One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.
If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.
Thanks for your understanding!
Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

Druid - Access and Combat Recommendations
Access Directions
Druids and Druidesses are basically identical, and so you should fight them simultaneously. They are both found wandering all around the town of Taverley. The easiest way to get here quickly is using the balloon system from Castle Wars; you need one set of regular logs for this. You can also walk over from Falador or Burthorpe pretty easily.
Equipment
Wear standard gear of whatever combat style you choose. Note that they have a melee and magic attack, and the latter suggests wearing dragonhide. However, they mostly attack with melee so I wear regular melee gear.
Supplies
I recommend super attack and super strength potions to increase your kill rate; you'll need some food as well, depending on level. Mid-level and lower players should use super defence potions as well.
These monsters drop a fair number of herbs, so plan on banking periodically; a good way to deal with this is to bring with (or wear) a ring of duelling. This way you can quickly bank at Castle Wars, then take the balloon back to Taverley.
Familiar
Druids and druidesses drop a "decent" number of herbs, though they are not what I'd consider "prime" herb sources. I'd use either a macaw (to improve herb quality) or a beast of burden (to save on banking).
Combat Notes
These monsters are easy to kill. The biggest problem is their ridiculously long death animation -- it takes a high level two seconds to kill one and then it takes five seconds for the drop to appear. As such, you should try to fight where there are several of them, and after killing one, move to the next and return later for the drop.
Note that the gold drops from these monsters are not worth picking up.
The druids and druidesses both drop empty vials, which you can fill in the nearby fountains if you wish. If you have empty inventory slots after combat, there is also some flax in the area you can pick!
Drop Notes
As mentioned above, druids and druidesses are decent (though not spectacular) herb droppers. They also provide some runes (mostly earth), the occasional limpwurt root, druid's robes and a middling selection of charms.
