Kalphite Worker - Access and Combat Recommendations

Access Directions

The easiest way to get to the Kalphite lair is to use the fairy rings, code "B I Q". Run north and then west to find the hole that leads down to the lair. Use a rope on it, then click it to enter.

The best place to fight the workers is in the small room just northeast of the entrance.

Equipment

Use standard melee, ranged or magic gear as appropriate; these are simple monsters and do not hit hard. The only exception would be mid-level players who are cannoning; there you need to ensure you have decent melee defence due to multiple attacks.

These can also be Dharoked effectively, though the small number of monsters and long respawn time can make this counterproductive.

Supplies

You need a a lunar or dramen staff for the fairy rings to get near the lair, and a rope to access it.

An alternative is to run from Shantay Pass, but this is quite a bit slower.

High-level players do not need food as these will rarely hit if you wear decent armor. Mid-levels will need food. Bring two super attack and super strength potions to speed up kills.

These monsters don't really drop much that is worth alching.

Familiar

Since the area is multicombat, a combat familiar can help speed up kills, but is only worth the bother for mid-level players. These monsters don't drop much worth carrying away, so a forager might be your best bet. If you're just doing a short trip (such as for a Slayer assignment), just skip the familiar.

Combat Notes

These are low-level critters and there's not much to killing them. They are easily and quickly meleed and are also large enough to trap in safe spots for ranging or maging, though higher-level players can readily "tank" them without bothering.

Drop Notes

Kalphite soldiers have generally poor drops -- you'll get a few runes and herbs from them and some coins, and that's about it. They are fairly decent blue charm droppers for their level, though. Still, most players don't kill these for drops.
