I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. If I can't make at least a little bit of money to support my family via this site, I'll have to stop working on it.
One alternative is to become a RuneScoop member. It's cheap, you get access to all of the site with no ads, and you help keep the lights on around here.
If you want to use this site for free, I'd be grateful if you could add RuneScoop to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on Runescoop.com". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@http://*runescoop.com/*". Then just click OK.
Thanks for your understanding!
Sincerely... Qeltar, aka Charles, your hard-working host and RuneScape guide-writer extraordinaire. :)

Chaos Druid - Access and Combat Recommendations
Access Directions
Chaos druids are the best herb dropping monster in the game, and are also very easy to kill. As a result, they are often crowded during busy times, at least in the more accessible areas. They are found in four locations, some of which are easier to get to than others. Naturally, the spots that are more convenient or have fewer requirements get the most players.
The spot in Taverley Dungeon is the one most players think of first; it's reasonably convenient and has no requirements, so naturally it is always full. To get to it, go to the dungeon entrance, go down the ladder and north to the gate by the suits of armor. Go east past the giant bats, as far as you can. Turn north and the druids are in an alcove in the northeast corner.
If you have level 46 Thieving, the spot in the "blood rune tower" just north of Ardougne is better. Bank in the north bank in Ardougne and go west to the river. Cross the log balance, then go northwest to the tower and pick the lock. It may take several tries even at a high Thieving level.
Chaos druids are also found in the Wilderness section of the Edgeville Dungeon. Enter the dungeon, go north as far as you can, then east until you see the Wilderness gate. Go north, past the thugs, and then west to the druids.
Last but not least, chaos druids can be found in the Agility Dungeon. To get there the conventional way, teleport to the Watchtower, then go downstairs and east to the entrance. Slash the webs, go down the stairs and cross the ledge, continue past the chaos druid warriors, and go over the monkey bars; the druids are just past them. You need level 57 Agility to get to the druids this way. There's a shortcut door to Yanille that requires level 82 Thieving and a lockpick; if you have the level, this is the best place to fight chaos druids. If not, Ardougne is probably better.
Note that chaos druids are also found in another room in the Agility Dungeon along with Salarin the Twisted.
Equipment
Standard gear of whatever combat style you choose to use is fine for chaos druids; they are quite easy.
Supplies
I recommend super attack and super strength potions to increase your kill rate. Otherwise, no supplies are needed, unless you are low-level (below about level 50 or so) in which case you will need food.
Familiar
Chaos druids are one of the best herb droppers in the game. You can get a larger number of herbs per hour by using a beast of burden to carry more drops, but you are actually best off to use a macaw familiar instead, as it increases the percentage of higher-value herbs you get by a significant amount.
Combat Notes
These are simple, easy monsters, and you won't face any issues other than possibly dealing with competition from other players. While a full world is important to ensuring maximum kill speed, don't waste time competing with other players -- you're better off by yourself in a half-full world than fighting with someone else on a full one.
Drop Notes
As mentioned above, chaos druids are a prime source of herbs. They also drop runes, mithril bolts, vials of water and some other miscellaneous stuff. Again, use a macaw here to get the highest value in herb drops.
