Thug - Access and Combat Recommendations

Access Directions

Thugs can be found in the Wilderness section of the Edgeville Dungeon. Enter the dungeon, go north as far as you can, then east until you see the Wilderness gate. Open the gate and the thugs are right there.

You can also find them in the low-level Wilderness just north of Varrock.

Equipment

Wear standard melee, ranged or magic gear. Be sure not to take anything too expensive as this is the Wilderness and so revenants are a potential threat.

Supplies

I recommend a super attack and super strength potion to increase your kill rate. Otherwise, no supplies are needed, unless you are low-level (below about level 50 or so) in which case you will need food.

Familiar

These monsters drop a lot of herbs, so I recommend using a macaw, which will improve the quality of your herb drops. Use an amulet of glory to get to the bank quickly and then run back to the dungeon.

An alternative is to use a beast of burden, but the macaw is generally a better choice.

Combat Notes

Thugs are in the Wilderness, which means the potential of revenant attack, so you must pay attention when fighting. On the other hand, it's very low-level Wilderness, so the odds of the right level revenant showing up are low, and it's pretty easy to escape if you get into trouble.

Drop Notes

These monsters are a little-known alternative to other low-level herb droppers, and also provide reasonable amounts of good runes and a decent number of gold charms.
