Chicken - Access and Combat Recommendations

Access Directions

All of these farms are easy to get to. The most popular spot is the farm near the cow pen in Lumbridge, but it can get crowded on busy servers during peak times.

Equipment

For low-levels, standard melee, ranged or magic gear as appropriate. High-level players don't need armor and are better off using weight-reducing gear.

Supplies

Food for very low-level players only.

Familiar

A beast of burden is handy if you are trying to harvest raw chicken or bones; otherwise, use a forager like a magpie.

Combat Notes

Nothing much to fighting these. :)

Drop Notes

Chickens are a good source of three raw materials: bones (for Prayer), raw chicken (for Cooking and Summoning) and feathers (Fletching, Fishing and other uses). This makes them a good money source for very new players.

Collecting chicken and bones will slow you down because they don't stack like feathers. But even if you aren't trying to collect them, you might as well take some when you go to bank if your inventory would otherwise be empty.
