:!: Tip Of the Day

Topic Overview:
Present your personal tip of the day. This could be everything and nothing. As long as it is a genuine tip.

My tip of the day:
Pouches are currently being introduced on a higher rate than they are being used. They are good alchables and many people have decided/need to alch them in order to not loose too much money training summoning. Things like yew longbows have now also been fixed in terms of pricing on the GE. This means more alchers on all fronts. Perhaps it is the right time to invest in Nature runes?

Don't run from Iron Dragons when you realize you forgot your shield. You can't outrun the pain... I know... First hand.

Are we supposed to limit it to one tip per day?

Assuming no...

When soloing Kree'Arra (Armadyl GWD Boss), running away and leaving Kree'Arra stuck behind the bodyguards will stop him from using his melee attack (he can get past them in time, however).

Take a kitchen hand towel and wet it, squeeze out just enough water so that it does not drip. Microwave it for 3 minutes. Do not open Microwave for 5 minutes after. Use the towel to wipe out any splatters that were stuck on before. No effort simple and fast!

Oh wrong forum.... :P You want rs tips.....

1. You can hide under the Kree'Arra bosses shadow if you need a bit of a break. He will take some time to be able to hit you again. Feel free to kill his helpers during this time.

2.When killing the Sara boss you can use sweets and run around like a fool to distract the boss well your friend kills it.

3. Bandos can currently be blockaded by some of the new pets otherwise use a tanker with protect melee to take his hits.

4. When getting your killcount up always try to kill monsters allready distracted and in combat.

5. Sormin loves godwars and is always available to kill boss monsters if you PM him :-P

I understand what you're getting at Sormin, but as long as we're giving tips

Be sure not to kill the bodyguards before the boss.

Unless your harvesting the bodyguards for shards solo :-). They respawn quickly... I occasionally get bored and do this when no freinds are online to help me kill the big boss efficiently.

1. Hold down CTRL and click a spot to RUN toward it, even if you're currently set on WALK.

2. If you haven't got a hilt, sell your godsword shards or blade ASAP - don't hold onto a blade or any component thereof. According to most every drop log out there, shards are dropping well over 10x more often than hilts. Extrapolate that out, and you'll see that there will soon be an abundance of completely useless blades in peoples' banks. If you're holding onto shards or a blade while waiting for a hilt drop, just sell them. When you get your hilt, you can buy another blade, and it will most likely be far cheaper than you sold it.

When soloing the kalphite queen, run under her while eating so you do not continue to get damaged :) (allot like one already said so heres another one.)

Now is a good time to buy maple logs for fire making. Last time i checked they were 45 each.

Quick ways to get summoning seconds that you might not know: Bronze claws can be bought from Martin Thwaite for 15gp each, buckets of compost can be obtained by using a bucket on the the compost mound familiar.

Stock up on baked potatoes while training construction in Yanille! On runs back to the bank, walk through the food shop, fill up your inventory with unlimited potatoes, and cook them right there!

I buy compost at Catherby and load my leprechaun there. There's no way I'm wasting a bin on it. (I do use it on flower patches as the yield is set.)

This issue was once not adequately covered in the KB, but I note that the Supercompost description now states it in black and er.. tan.

Super compost is used in the same way as normal compost, but is far more effective at preventing disease and increasing crop yields; though it is more difficult to make.

I had been using supercompost in flower patches based on responses I received to a forum post on the subject and my interpretation of what used to be in the KB, to reduce the chance of disease (obviously no help with yield). The advantage to using super at a flower patch only kicks in if you're not power-farming and visiting each patch frequently during growth, which is generally the case with me.

Lunar magics had a very handy spell concerning supercompost, I believe...the few runes are really worth all the hastle with buckets etc. :P

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the fields of ripening grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.

Well, the default thing I plant in flower patches is limpwurt roots. I have over 1k in bank. I have over 200 seeds. (Did I mention I went to 91 thieving on farmers?) So, if I lose a patch or two of limpwurts, it really doesn't matter to me.

I always super compost my:

Trees
Bushes
Specials
Herbs

Since I can't buy that, I use it sparingly. Right now I'm only planting tomatoes in my allotments unless I get lucky with better seeds from drops. (Strawberries and watermelons.) I don't even bother composting them. If they live, they live, if they don't, I don't care. I only plant and harvest them because I'm there for the herbs.

When I plant watermelons, I always put nasturiums in first. The nasturiums will be supercomposted. When they are mature, I plunk in the watermelons.

I don't care about all my crops. I haven't even decided what I'll do with my corn seeds. I wasn't going to plant them until I ran out of limp seeds. I am in no rush to grow them. Last time I did, I made over 900 tuna potatoes at once. It is not an experience I am interested in repeating any time soon.

The fastest way to switch from lunar back to regular is to use a pharaoh's sceptre to teleport to Jaldroacht, switch to ancients, and then switch ancients off. ;)

If you have the Karamja 3 Gloves (reward for completing the whole diary), KEEP THEM WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES! That unlimited teleport (very!) close to a bank is extremely useful --- I prefer that teleport after any kind of slayer run as it is free, and if you die and lose the gloves, you can get them back for free =)
