Hitpoints Restore Testing [Update]

Postby Ghost Phoenix » Sat Oct 04, 2008 9:58 am

As I was on Lunar Isle getting a suqah tooth, and with the changes to the Regen Brace I figured I'd do some testing to see exactly how different factors affect your hitpoints restoration.

The individual factors that can affect hitpoints restore are:
Normally your hitpoints restore at the rate of 1 point after 60 seconds.
Wearing a Regen Bracelet you instead get 2 hp after 60 seconds.
Having the Rapid Heal prayer activate causes your hitpoints to restore at a rate of 1 every 30 seconds.
While casting the dream spell your hitpoints restore at a rate of 1 point every 20 seconds.

However what I discovered is that these effects do not affect each other, but are singular effects that all work independantly of one another.

Rapid Heal + Regen Brace
Hitpoints are restored by 2 at 30 seconds, and then by 2 at 60 seconds.
Total: 4 hp resotred per minute.

Rapid Heal + Dream
Hitpoints are restore by 1 at 20 seconds, 1 at 30 seconds, 1 at 40 seconds and 2 at 60 seconds.
Total: 5 hp restored per minute.

Dream + Regen Brace
Hitpoints are restored by 1 at 20 seconds, 1 at 40 seconds and 3 at 60 seconds.
Total: 5 hp restored per minute.

Rapid Heal + Dream + Regen Brace
Hitpoints are restored by 1 at 20 seconds, 2 at 30 seconds, 1 at 40 seconds and 3 at 60 seconds.
Total: 7 hp restored per minute.

Dream doesn't apepar to actually be normal hitpoints restoration, but simply another effect that gives you 1 hitpoint back every 20 seconds, hence the fact that the Regen Bracelet doesn't give you double hitpoints back at Dream intervals and that with Rapid Heal the effects are not multiplied for 6 hitpoints per minute.

Update
When you turn on Rapid Heal you will get hitpoints at 30 second intervals from the time you turned it on. If you turn Rapid Heal off again before 30 seconds have passed you will not get back hitpoints until 60 seconds from the time of switching it on have passed.

This means that by toggling Rapid Heal on and off at <60 second intervals you can suspend your natural hitpoints restoration indefinately.
A quick test seems to show that you cannot prevent stat restoration the same way through Rapid Restore.

Edit: Clarification.
Edit 2: Rapid Heal, not Rapid Restore. Lol.
Edit 3: How to prevent natural healing.

Add a bunyip for 9 hp per minute and use at monsters with slow respawn rate. I think it may be useful at some bosses.

It is all useful, as bunyp adds 8hp/min.

Dream is nice for the info, but isn't practical.

I might like to use regen at things like sara boss, or other gwd where you eihter get hit for a fair amount, or not at all

By most of I meant the Dream info.
Without a doubt, 12 hitpoints per minute is going to be useful somewhere.

How fast does poison hit?

You can't do anything while 'Dreaming' right? Does something attacking you stop Dream?

Idk, can't find it on tipit or the kb.. I'm not on lunar otherwise I'd test.

It heals 15 per minute, not 9, correcting myself :)
this would indeed be very usefull in GWS, at the KBD or giant mole..

Thanks for testing this. I have learned something today.

With max hit 'm', accuracy 'a', and monster HP 'x', this gives the expected number of hits to kill the monster :)

Yeh, any sort of interaction with the game pulls you out of your dream.
wearing a pink coat, feeling the breeze, smelling the green grass and walking towards the ever elusive horizon.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the fields of ripening grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.

On that note it's also worth specifically pointing out if you use Dream and then activate Rapid Restore you get woken up because Rapid Restore interupts Dream.

So, best way to get fastest hp restore?

1. Log in, basic hp rest
2. put on regen brace
3.put on rapid heal
4. summon bunny
5. dream

1. Eat a monkfish

Seriously, the cost of dream in runes makes it completely unfeasible.

Indeed, dream isn't worthwhile.

perhaps blood barrage would acually be better then dream someplace. Hit high, heal alot in one shot

Zombie monkeys with z brew and salve ammy (e) = just made twice as good :P

I wonder if you can prevent yourself from restoring stats by flashing the stat restore prayer in the same way. I'm sure Q would like to know this

It was said in the report that stat restoration can't be halted in the same way.

You can DIE from Zammy brews.

You could control your hitpoints by lowering them 2 at a time by walking out from under the overhanging rock.

Overhanging rock? I don't know if we're thinking about the same thing here...

I was referring to the zombie monkeys under the temple on ape atoll, not the skeletal monkeys in zooknock's tunnel.

If you don't mind me asking, how can you die from zammy brews?

As far as I can tell, they can very rarely hit their max on you regardless of your current HP. That's 12, I think. I've personally never been hit more than 0 by one at under 10HP, but I've seen pictures and heard enough stories to believe it.

Skeletal monkeys are easier to Dharok. You can afk there and just drink PPots.
