I conducted several tests which have led me to several conclusions that I'll state now:
1. Your items dropped on death are never visible to another player.
2. Your items dropped on death will remain on the ground for the allotted time that your gravestone would have lasted even if your gravestone is replaced by another one [i.e - you die again] or you disconnect.
Side fact you probably already know: Any item dropped normally [not on death] that is under 3k in value will be visible to another player within exactly one minute.
---------------------
How did I come up with these conclusions? Well, thanks to my friend Match Book14 for helping me with the blessing and staying around for these admittedly boring tests.
Test #1: Got four items, the lowest value of which was a mith bolt, got myself killed in Fally by the guards. Match Book then blessed my grave and I intentionally disconnected and reconnected.
Results: The gravestone disappeared immediately on disconnect, but upon reconnection my items contained in the gravestone were still on the ground. Even 50 minutes later, that lonely mithril bolt lay on the ground. There was, however, no indication that my "gravestone collapsed" when the bolt finally disappeared.
Test #2: Got another item to have four items and died again on purpose.
Results: The mithril bolt from test 1 was completely unaffected by my second death. My items stayed on the ground until the gravestone collapsed, then those items on the ground from test #2 disappeared with the gravestone accordingly with the gravestone's timer.
Test #3: Got another item for four items, got myself to very low hp and imminent death, then turned off my wireless connection. I died while I was disconnected as planned.
Results: The mithril bolt from test 1 is still unaffected and stays for its allotted time. This time, I drop bones and a pineapple on death. The bones disappear after 1 minute and 30 seconds or so, suggesting that those were dropped by me upon death and just a normal drop for someone's death. There was no gravestone, but the item lost on death remained there for the entire time that the gravestone would have lasted.
On all three tests, Match stuck around to see if he saw any of the items dropped on death. He said he didn't see anything.

Hopefully this will clear up many common misconceptions regarding gravestones. If you want to know about any other scenarios, I conducted several other tests that I just can't remember right now and I can conduct others to match your scenario. Tell me if this helps or if you feel it doesn't prove anything.
