---I NEED MORE SUGGESTIONS PLEASE---
Everyone is always looking for ways to make money in runescape. This will be a list of all the major moneymakers that we can all come up with. So the next time someone asks you how to make money, just direct them here  .

This seems like the best categories for moneymakers. I will post links to guides when appropriate.

Thanks, but this list is nowhere near complete, and I'm going away to Greece for two weeks starting in 3 days.

I think that an estimate of the profit from level 3 clue scrolls would be rather useful including the average time to obtain the scroll and to complete it. I don't have any stats, but I suspect that someone on here would do.

My personal favorite, collecting snape grass on waterbirth island using the waterbirth (lunar spell) group telly.
It's good for collecting some karma, just let a mate of yours (one of those low lvl people who always complain about the lack of cash)
tag along (use duel rings, castlewars as meeting point), makes a simple 400k/hour. (per person that is)
might want to add it :P .
wearing a pink coat, feeling the breeze, smelling the green grass and walking towards the ever elusive horizon.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the fields of ripening grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.

Zarfot in his Mega Slayer Guide:

From about 20 level 3 clues, even doing them very quickly and efficiently, and getting a robin hood hat from one, the profit was only about 1000k per hour. That didn't even include transition time between slayer and clues or time taken to sell the clue rewards. Therefore I estimated the profit of clues at about 400k-800k per hour. That's lower than the 1.7M per hour I recommend those with 91+ runecrafting value their time at. I still am not doing slayes, although I know my evidence wasn't complete and fully accurate.

A common argument for doing clues is that you can strike 10s of millions if you get 3rd age armor. In reality, that armor is extremely rare and if you do get it, you probably won't get the more expensive 3rd age melee. On average, 3rd age only adds a tiny bit of profit onto clues.

I'd also like to note that it can be quite hard to do clues efficiently; to maximize speed, you need to know 100+ clues right off the top of your head and have all teleports and items determined and available.

However, the release of the Grand Exchange on November 26, 2007, changed my opinions about clues slightly. I never used to recommend clues for people who value time at over 500k per hour. But now with the Grand Exchange, it wouldn't be hard to sell Treasure Trail rewards easily while moving all over RuneScape. Therefore, I think clues can give a profit of nearly 800k per hour.

Therefore, my advice for you now is: you should do clues unless you are 91+ runecrafting or want to get 99 slayer as fast as possible regardless of a concern of making cash.

I'd appreciate any different opinions on clue scrolls. My sample of 20 clues was quite small so it was hard to reach a conclusion. I also do not have an accurate rate of getting 3rd age available, so if it is more common than I think that could make clues more worth it.

I would think that estimating the time including obtaining the clue would be very difficult, as the drop rates of clues are largely unknown and vary from monster to monster.

I get all of my clues from slayer, so I don't have any kind of accurate value per hour for them, but I keep a log of all of the rewards, the monster that dropped them and the values of the items that I receive. So far, out of 144 level 3 clues, the average value has been 305.5k per clue. That is based on the value of the items at the time I got them, so some of those prices are pre-GE and its safe to assume my true average would be somewhat lower than that if I sold the items today, but it gives a good idea. If I had to guess, I would say it would be very hard to average more than about 1 clue per hour.

p.s. in those 144 clues I have one third age item, a melee helm, and that helm alone boosts the overall average by about 75k per clue. I have no idea if getting "only" one of them in that many clues was lucky or unlucky, but obviously they have a huge impact on the long term averages.

I hope that doesn't make this guide pointless. I'm just making a list of moneymakers, not telling how to do them.

Yeah, their lists are organized by skill with a miscellaneous section for gathering and merchanting.

All the people I know who have made over 100M lately have done it through 91+ Runecrafting, Godwars, or GE Merchanting.

3rd Age items are supposedly around 1 in 10k clues. Anyone who gets one is extremely lucky. At that rate, too, I seriously doubt they have much if any effect on the average value of clues.

Why is it that common sense and common courtesy are both so rare? :?

Say the 3rd age item is valued at 100m.

That adds a mere 10k to the expected value of each clue. 3rd Age should not be hunted for; it should be treated as a spontaneous bonus.

The problem with 3a items is that you need piles of junk to sell them for their proper value. A friend of mine got 3a range legs about 2 weeks ago; he doesn't feel like creating the junk and he also doesn't want to get cheated and sell to a merchant via the GE. This useless item is now just collecting dust in his bank. :?

I already spent around 160M on construction levels + furnishings and I'm about to spend 40M more on 99 and some missing bits and pieces; all of it came from skilling, farming mainly. Prior to construction I spent around 55M on 99 farming. No lucky drops whatsoever, I only got a left shield half back when they were 1M ea, that's it.

Is this herb seed farming or is there another way I'm missing :?

well I already have herb farming on the list. It's a very good method, I made about 44m on it out of 500 snapdragon seeds (but the market conditions were also right).

Yes, herbs and all the other small stuff -- coconuts, spines, etc.

Wow, how much did snap seeds cost at the time? If 44M is gross (prior to subtracting seed costs), you sold each snap for over 12,500 gp -- quite a market!

i'm not sure what category this is in but i think you could and maybe still can make some good money buying pizzas at warrior guild, buying pineapples from GE or that guy on the docks and selling pineapple pizzas.Have to have somewhat high melee and fairly high cooking...
