Spiritual warriors: Where, How, and Why

Postby Doomedrusher » Mon Apr 21, 2008 8:51 pm

To raise my melee combat stats, I decided to fight spiritual warriors in the God Wars Dungeon. My equipment is as follows:

Worn:
-Warrior helm
-Zamorak God cape (Mage Arena)
-Amulet of Fury
-Nothing in quiver
-Abyssal whip
-Guthan's platebody
-Rune Defender
-Guthan's plateskirt
-Barrows gloves
-Dragon Boots
-Ring of Wealth

(Attack mode is Controlled)

Inventory, after banking and repairing guthans:
-Guthan's helm
-Guthan's spear
-1000 nature runes
-5002 fire runes
-2 law runes
-Excalibur
-Dragon battleaxe
-Ancient mace
-Ring of Dueling/House tab
-Holy symbol

-Saradomin brew (2)
-Super restore potion (2)
-Super attack (1)
-Lobster x 12

My procedures are as follows:
-Teleport to trollheim
-Wear holy symbol
-Run past throwing trolls with protect from ranged
-Go near crack, switch prayer to protect from melee, go in
-You should be able to run 80% of the way to the dungeon without the energy drain affecting you
-Go inside dungeon, turn prayer to protect from ranged
-Go to the entrace to Zamorak's fortress and kill as many bloodvelds as you can with prayer
-Eat if necessary to get to 70 hitpoints (The lobsters!)
-Go through
-Alch the holy symbol and wear your fury
-Use the Dragon Battleaxe special attack
-Drink the doses of brew, then the Super restores and the super attack and drop the vials
-Attack the level 115 spiritual warriors.
-(You can lure multiples of them on you and line them up, so all their loot drop in one pile as they move towards you to get killed.)
-Use excalibur when your special bar charges up again
-Heal with guthans when your hitpoints drop below 40.
-Use the prayer points when the hitpoints drop to a critical level (below 12).
-Use the ancient mace to recharge the prayer points when you can spare the special attack.

List of alchable items (Items that alch for 300 coins or more):
-Steel longsword
-Steel chainbody
-Black kiteshield
-Black warhammer
-Mithril axe
-Mithril mace
-Mithril platelegs
-Mithril spear (p)
-Adamant battleaxe
-Adamant full helm
-Rune longsword
-Rune kiteshield
-Rune halberd

Times to leave the place:
-When Guthan's armour breaks
-When the supply of nature runes is depleted (Quite unlikely, as you can only kill about 1200 warriors before your armour breaks)
-When you accidentally alch the defender, spear, or whip (All of them happened to me, unfortunately)
-When your inventory fills up with rune kiteshields and halberds (Jagex nerfed the drop rate of those items to about 1/200 in the past few months, so this is again, unlikely)
-When you get a clue scroll drop
-When you accidentally click on the boss chamber (Seriously, teleport out!)

Spiritual warrior log: (Started after several long trips)

Trip #: The trip number, starting from 1

Kill count: The number of spiritual warriors killed (No, I do not use the GWD kc, since it include the imps and velds.)
Combat experience gained, including hitpoints: Total experience gained through combat on this trip
Magic experience gained: Total magic experience gained from alchemies on this trip
Alchemies: The number of High Alchemies performed
Total coins gained: Total number of coins received from the alchemies
Net gain: Profit (Coins gained, minus the cost of nature runes used for alchemy)
Net profit: Net gain plus the value of the rune drops and minus the barrows repair cost
Rune drops received: Lists the rune equipment I received
Potential repair cost: Repair cost of Guthans at Bob
Actual repair cost: Repair cost of Guthans at Armour stand
Notes: Notes about that particular trip

Trip 1: Left due to clue scroll

Net gain: 99275 coins
Net profit: 196028 coins
Rune drops received: 2 rune halberds (Valued at 153,040 coins)

Clue rewards:

(Value: 42,436 coins)

I will update the log every trip. Please post your own logs with accurate data if you want to help contribute :D

A note to posting accurate logs:
-Use the kc minus the number of velds and imps you killed.
-Subtract remaining nats from original nats to get alch numbers. (Don't pick up any nats left behind by spiritual mages if you use this method!)
-Repair the armour before you go to get accurate repair costs. Use on Bob but don't click "Yes" to get max cost.
-Multiply kills with 533.33 to get combat experience
-Multiply alchemies by 65 to get magic experience

You should use the Zamorak Prayer cape instead of the Magic Cape.

The cape does not make a difference anyway, except maybe for the bloodvelds. It is not something I would waste 1m+ on.

Spiritual warriors: Where, How, and Why

I don't understand why you don't just bring a Zamorak cape of some sort, guthans, and normal melee armor.
Why are you bothering with the bloodvelds and imps?

I do use a zamorak cape of some sort... Please read my post...

Bloodvelds = Extra experience at the beginning
Imps = healing in case Guthans betrays you

I don't recommend spiritual warriors for training to be honest. They aren't the greatest exp, or the greatest cash, and they don't drop charms at all. You're probably better off training slayer so you can kill the mages, which are better for training anyway.

Oh I'm sorry, I was tired and I had trouble understanding your post.

I now understand ;) I just was puzzled by all the steps at the beginning with the potions and the weapon specials, etc. etc. I just throw on my zammy cape, run in and take them out with Guthans (on my slayer task, of course ;) )
I just didn't understand the imp/bloodveld parts, but I do now. Thanks!

You DO break through their defenses quite easily, and I get as much experience there as I would dharoking the apes, and I actually earn money and clue scroll opportunities.
